Tyler's 5th Grade Graduation

Today was Tyler's 5th grade graduation. We remember celebrating our last Elementary School program 13 years ago but today it was for real. Each 5th grade teacher nominated one student from their class to receive a special recognition award. Tyler was chosen from his class. He got lots of other awards for band and such. He is such a good guy, very conscientious and always trys to do the right thing. What a joy he is to our family.

Memorial Day 2008

The last few years we have planned a pool party for Memorial Day and we got rained out. But this year it was beautiful, nice and warm. We smoked a brisket and had some neighbor families over, along with all the children and grandchildren. We had 31 total. We topped off the day with Bluebell icecream cones.
Megan helped her Granny in the morning by sitting in kitchen sink playing while I was preparing food. Amber and Dan were off to the movies for the newest Indiana Jones movie.

Band Performance

This was Tyler's last band performance at Longfellow Elementary School.
He has auditioned for advanced Band at his new school next year, Pin Oak Middle School.

Baseball Celebration

The season ended and it was time for trophies and Celebration.

Astro's Pitcher

Tyler got to pitch for his baseball team called the Astros. He did a great job.

1. What was I doing 10 years ago

May of 1998 -- Tyler was one year old. I was still helping to organize group swim lessons at Willow Pool although I think my kids did most of the teaching at this time.



2. What is on my to-do list for today?

Today was busy, I started right out getting the "work" chores done. I cleaned the oven and the stove. I had on my list to also clean the refrigerator but Carrie came in to fix breakfast so since she was in the way I instead cleaned out the game closet. I got some dirt to fill in uneven areas on grass. Watered the garden. Went to Sam's Club. Hold baby Chloe, Play with baby Megan.

3. What are 3 bad habits of mine?
I like to eat Blue bell icecream, I try to limit myself to once or twice a week instead of everynight.
I'm sure I have some other bad habits but my mind is blank.

6. 3 Things people don't know about me
1. I love to dance, did ballroom dancing in college.
2. One of my favorite vacations is going on the houseboat and enjoying water skiing.
I'm a great slalom skier. I can't say the same for wake boarder or other various apparatus.
3. I like to learn new things especially on the computer but often need lots of hands on help but once I learn then I can go forward.

Here we are at Jamie's home, playing Bocce ball. Little Megan couldn't wait to get to Texas and get in the hot tub.

Arrow of Light-Cubscouts

Tyler earned his arrow of light. His leader Sis. Eccles spends alot of time wrapping beautiful threads on this arrow that correspond to all his awards. Next week is gets to go to Scouts.

Piano Recital

Tyler had his piano recital the end of April. He seemed to really enjoy learning some fun songs this year.
